Australian singer-songwriter Melanie George says music has been the most important part of her life since she was a young girl.  Having performed as a singer in choirs, bands and now as a solo artist, her influences range from Aretha Franklin and Etta James to P!nk, Jack Garratt and Bruno Mars, and her debut single, "Eyes On You" was released on June 15th 2018.  Her follow up, "Fool To Love" will be released in April 2019.

With a classical background, Melanie learned to play the French horn and piano at an early age while growing up in the USA and England.  As a horn player, she performed in ensembles at venues like The Royal Albert Hall (London), Symphony Hall (Birmingham), twice at Carnegie Hall (New York City) and went on to receive a BMus(Hons) degree in classical music from Goldsmiths, University of London.  She credits the support of her music teachers and parents for such a rewarding musical upbringing; they provided honesty when it was needed and showed her that drive and determination she would need to live a life as a musician.

Melanie will be releasing new tracks across the year as part of her debut EP, and is also working with other songwriters.

Available for function and events performances too, she can provide a mixture of styles - from jazz standards to soul classics to modern pop.
